About Shannen
I have been working professionally with animals for over a decade, with a background in veterinary technology, pet grooming, and pet care.
When I became a part of the dog training community, I immediately fell in love with the line of work, and I felt like I found my calling knowing I could help the lives of dogs and their owners using patience and positivity.
What drew me in, and what still drives me today, is the chance to help people and their dogs understand each other on a deeper level. I believe in working with dogs, not against them, and using kindness, patience, and modern behavioral science to create lasting change.
Since then, I’ve logged over 15,000 hours working hands-on with dogs of all ages, breeds, and backgrounds. Whether you’re struggling with reactivity, anxiety, or just looking to build a better connection, I’m here to help you feel more confident and capable as a dog parent.
I am Certified in Applied Animal Behavior through the University of Washington, I am an AKC Evaluator, and a supporting member of the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants.
My certification included an in-depth study of behavioral ecology and its real-world application to companion animals — even in complex cases involving safety concerns or legal matters.
My work is rooted in evidence-based, ethical practices that reflect the latest research in behavioral science and learning theory — not outdated myths or one-size-fits-all methods.
I believe every dog is an individual, and every training plan should reflect that.
When we work together, I’ll meet you and your dog where you are, and help you build the kind of relationship that’s based on trust, structure, and mutual understanding.
I use positive, modernized methods that practice love, patience, and compassion when working with dogs to help teach them to be the best they can be.

Science
I believe that your success in dog training is directly related to how well you understand your animal on a deeper level. By using science-backed training methods, we help bridge that gap.

I know... training can be hard. A huge key to success in your training is finding the support from trusted, veterinary recommended professionals.
